Colorado SuperShuttle, or Uping the Monday picture quota

New job sent me back west, so my bike made the journy as well. Thursday afternoon I hitched down to the Springs and squatted at Kristian's place. He had my bike, so he gratously let me in.

Friday he played hooking and we hit Palmer Park. I'm not sure if the pictures will completely convey the envy I have for such a sweet trail system a few sort blocks from his house.

    The park was the appetizer....

Now on the the Feast....a DH run with a verticle mile of elevation loss.

Frontranger (Jason) I hope your face feels better.

ETR, Kitchenware, Darren, and the K-man show us some things.

Looks like fun! Palmer Park is definitely a sweet place to have within a 15minute drive fo my house Im assuming you went on Saturday's ride? Did your group do much climbing? I was with the dh group and had a gold SantaCruz V-10.

we climbed more than were told

But I really like the climb. It's hard to say the elevation, maybe 700 feet in one sustained push. railraod grade most of the way. I was on the LocoMoto. The guys on the big bikes without low gears didn't like it as much.

But the DH after it was so worth it. Some of the best stuff on our ride. Did you guys do the crazy scree field section? We saw evidence of someone going off trail to the wrong side.

The pictures look great (although I wish there were more people with us in the park )! I love the tire deflection on the last one--maybe I need a little more air.

Anyone want a large blue Loco for a decent price? Brian left it at my house so I figure I would put it up on Ebay and save him some money on shipping it back to Mass.

I can be in the park by 11:00am if anyone is interested. That being said, we have had rainstorms in the early afternoon for the past few Fridays...

Turns out a couple of stitches would be nice but no big deal really. I figure it was a small price to pay for such a run.

When is your next WE day off? I'll hit that or PP every chance I get.

Also, the kids go back to school in 2 weeks and I'll have 6 hours to ride every weekday.

BTW, did anyone capture any of my near falls due to safety equipment? I was hoping that the sketchy-ass roll down that bridge would pop up. Bet my eyes were the size of half dollars. hehe

i can ride this sat/sun, depending on how i feel post wisdom tooth extraction. then i've got the 18th - 25th off. back to work the night of the 26th, so i can even ride that day!

been thinking of a monarch area trip, or steamboat area for a three day quickie.

At this point it looks like I'm going to head down Friday evening and camp at the National Forest Campground where we did GITA (between Angelfire and Taos), ride Saturday and probably camp Saturday night. I think Jaenette is coming so she and I will probably do Taos on Sunday before heading home.

    Nice

I had fun. Despite the need for a $260 fuel pump (parts only) and a $50 tow. A few pictures of my own to add to the post.

Thanks to those that helped me while coasting and my apologies to all for the delay.

    Car troubles?

I take it from your post that you had car troubles on shuttle - did you get enough bro money to cover the cost of the tow? If not, let me know and I'll pitch in - seems like the right thing to do.

Sweet pics Darren. Sorry to hear about the car. The fuel pump fail because crap from the bottom of the fuel tank got into it? If it makes you feel any better I did $430 worth of damage to my explorer on the shuttle and drive down to CS...both rear rotors shot, etc.

You were the only one to get an action shot of me, so I'm very happy. Oh yeah, and nice riding with the old school Klein.

    I've got rotor envy.

Nah really, that trail made me realize I need a bigger rotor AND I need to use the plastic thingy in my front caliper for shuttles.

Cool pics, Darren. Good to see you again too.

    public?

Is the "Supershuttle" trail public? If so, where is it at?

If you don't want to share thats okay too.

It's public but I don't share trail information on the web (and please don't anyone else share information--this trail doesn't need to become the next Monarch Crest ok?). I'd be happy to show you next time we do a shuttle if you're interested.
