    Chickitas hit the trails again....

We had so much fun this morning! The cooler weather and recent rains have really made for some amazing conditions.

    <object width="560" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/0qBc9MxDcKw?version=3&amp;hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/0qBc9MxDcKw?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="560" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

And the photos to go with the video:

    That's all for now.

Yahoo - that looks fun. Yep, that GoPro chest mount needs a bit of work. Your videos make my neck hurt. I'm craning my neck to look further up the trail.

    Nice quality

Nice quality. But I'd rather see the trail than mostly bike and knees. I prefer the camera on the helmet most of the time. But that's just my opinion.

I agree; I'm still working on system set-up. I've had the GoPro for about two weeks, just need to keep testing things out.

    Who cares?

Who cares about seeing you, your legs or your bike? I just want to see the trail.

Got another one from last night's ride. I might have to find a helmet mount. The chest mount worked well for my boyfriend and he was able to get good footage, but, while mine was better, my footage still needs work. If I raise the chest mount much more, it will be around my neck. I might try another attachment and see if that helps, I just don't want it to interfere with my chin!

I've seen that same thing in most videos taken with that Go Pro chest mount. Knees, stems, arms, handlebars, tires all bobbing up and down, and maybe a little trail and another rider. There's something to be said for helmet mount for MTB's.

If you do find a good chest mount set up, tell Go Pro all about it so they can include some tips for MTB.

Loved the soundtrack to the video (who is that?) and the riding wasn't so bad either.

Lee, I will be returning it. Even after updating it with the firmware it will just quit filming, even when the light is flashing. Today was the second time it didn't catch the Horsethief drop-in, and a bunch of other stuff. It just quits filming. I will take it back and possibly exchange it, but I might go with a contour.

The chest mount is just too big for a person my size. Even with the straps as short as can be, I can't get it up high enough. But, I will read the info.; it might make me change my mind and not go with a contour.

Mount the camera upside down on the chesty, be sure camera is in upd mode. You can get a better upward angle, and more of the trail and scenery. I have some footage to edit from that angle, but will post it up when I can

patience you'll eventually zone in on the sweet spot considering you just started filming. it'll be fun learning curve. with the creative suggestions from the crowd you'll benefit personally in time. have you watched this? Thunder Mountain Snow - YouTube

I exchanged the GoPro for a different unit. Given that it would flash the record light but record nothing, I think it may have been the unit. Downloading today's ride for editing, we'll see how it looks.

May sound ridiculous, but mine did the same thing when I forgot to put the SD card in.

It had nothing to do with an SD card. It would film and just quit filming while continuing to blink as though it were filming. I just looked at tthe footage from the new GoPro. It filmed when it was blinking. I have decided that I'm probably too short for the chest mount, either that or I have to angle it so I think it will film the inside of my nose.
