    Born Again- UPDATE *Finished Product*

Im pretty new to the whole Mtn Biking world, always had a cheap WalMart bike to just play around on. Now I am addicted and ready to get out and hit the trails to ride, race, and camp. A guy I work with gave me a heck of a deal on one of his old back up bikes, a Trek 26" hardtail 8000 sl. She has a few miles on her but very well taken care of and maintained. So i bought it a few weeks back and have been riding it but wanted to fix it up. The blue paint had several knicks and scratches and with me owning a powder coating business I knew I could give the ol gal a face lift. So here are the pics from when I got it. then yesterday I had it tore down to bare frame and the last pics are how I gave her a new look on life today.

Wow! That looks super nice; much better than that blue on blue!

Thank you all. Definitely looks better than the blue. I am pretty simple so I just wanted a nice, simple, clean look. I did make my own stickers for it. I drop it off at the shop in the morning and will post overall before and after pics when I get it back

That's some good work there! I assume from your user name you live in Arkansas. I'm in the Hot Springs area, where are you at?

Cedar Glades is pretty cool but you also need to check out Iron Mountain (Lake Degray), very well kept trails, fast and fun. If you get over this way and want someone to ride with PM me. I haven't been riding very long but I got hooked on it real fast. I'm usually out riding every weekend. Congrats on the bike, should look real sweet once it's all done.

Silver is a nice color for a bike, but I prefer blue. It may be that every "real" MTB that I have owned was a blue bike.
That must look nice with silver/matte black . Post pictures when the bike is complete.

Will do, the actual powder coat color is "GM Silver" which is very very close to the Pewter color from Chevy. kinda hard to tell just from pics but it is metallic and once in the sunlight it has a slight pearl to it.

I like the new look - except for the 8000 sticker - far too large. Cool that you are revamping an older ride, kudos to you for doing so. Get that sucker built up and go tear it apart!
