Damn it feels great!
After being on the road for work for three months last spring then coming home and furiously packing to move across the country to start my first year of med school, I had not even seen my bike since I took it apart and packed it in the trunk of my girlfriends car to be shipped across the country. So now that finals a over I put both of our bikes back together, replaced a couple of tubes that wouldn't hold air and looked up some local trails.
I am rusty and out of shape but having more fun than ever before! With the drastic change in my schedule I've been trying to check out a new trail every other day while I have the chance. I'm hoping to find a good weekday training ride that I can fit into my schedule next year at school and then save the other stuff for the weekends I can get away.
Surprisingly, none of my other classmates ride, other than a few roadies, which is very different from when I was in undergrad for mechanical engineering it seemed like it was a prerequisite and most of the faculty were avid cyclist.
