Aluminum frame corrosion at shock mount?

I know there has been some posting on this, but my rear shock mount looks like it is rusting under the paint, but it is aluminum? Pics are from a 2011 Santa Cruz Superlight. Any ideas how to stop/fix?

    Thanks, SC

But are you passionate about it?
Small ring in front makes it easier. Small ring in back makes it harder. That blows my mind.

Yeah, I'm just messing with you a little. Try one of the more tech specific forums like 29er, 27.5, or 26.

You've got filiform corrosion. Very treatable. it's gonna involve paint removal and surface treatment. How did you let this go so long untreated?

Or bike and frame. Since this isn't really affected by wheel size.

You might also want to ping Santa Cruz to see what they say about it. I am not sure if it's a warranty issue, but the frame should still be under warranty.

Good call on the possible warranty. I've enjoyed wonderful warranty support with Santa Cruz. I would shoot them a photo and a request. What have you got to lose?
