    04 Fisher Sugar 4 or 11 Rockhopper m4...

Need some advice and i'm new on the site so help me out if ya can...

I'm looking to buy a new mountain bike since my last one got stolen from campus. So here is what I have come down to...

    2004 Gary Fisher Sugar 4 or a 2011 Specialized Rockhopper m4

Sugar 4- full suspension frame, 26" tires, linear brakes

Rockhopper- standard frame (m4 so its the lighter frame of the hoppers), disc brakes, 26" tires

what do you guys think? They are both for $350

I just do moderate trails and getting around town. I'm a college student so this is about as much as I can afford to spend

Just looked at the bikes on

The Sugar 4 has better components (derailers, fork .....)

The Sugar 4 is older, so it depends what shape it is in, if it is in really good shape it would be a good purchase. (do you need a full suspension bike?????)

Can you go for a test ride on both bikes? See which one feels better

    Just my $.02 worth

    09 Specialized Rockhopper Comp 29er
    16 Rocky Mountain Blizzard -30

Go with the Rockhopper. No question. A 7 year old Sugar wouldnt be worth the risk in my opinion. The Rockhopper will be a solid entry level hardtail. Unless you absolutely need full suspension, go with the Rockhopper
