[Xpost] Crested Butte Video – In at Crystal Peak and out Cement Creek
Here’s a pretty tough loop that’ll put a dent in your soul. There’s a lot of high-altitude (10K to +12K) elevation gain on some steep slopes. Pay to play. There are fantastic views that few get to share. There are miles of stunning downhill.
Roll up Cement Creek Road to Crystal Peak Trail. Climb Crystal Peak to 400. Take 400 to Doubletop. Turn left on Hunter ‘s Creek Trail for an awesome descent back to Cement Creek trail. Take Cement Creek trail back to Cement Creek Rd.
If you have true AM blood running, this loop easily trumps the Reno-Flag-Bear-Deadman’s loop.
Cat is out of the bag now! For good reason though, best part about the 583-400 ride is you can make it a 3,4,5,6 hour ride depending on which way you decide to drop or climb. A few years ago you would never see anyone out there, now every time I ride it, you happen upon someone else.
