VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR TENDING OUR FOOTHILLS MAY 1
You can lend a caring hand to the foothills and the Ridge to Rivers Trail System at the 16th annual Tending Our Foothills event Saturday, May 1. The event begins at 9 a.m. at Fort Boise Community Center, 700 Robbins Rd.
Tending Our Foothills gives outdoor enthusiasts an opportunity to clean up and improve the recreation areas Boise citizens use and enjoy so much. Participants are organized into project teams and spend about four hours completing a variety of land restoration projects. This year’s projects include trail repair, native vegetation planting, debris clean up and fence removal.
Participants should bring sturdy shoes, work gloves and water. Tools and other supplies will be provided.
Last year about 50 people participated in the event.
To register, contact Jerry Pugh, Parks & Recreation volunteer coordinator, at 384-4060, ext. 319 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
