Visitor ride, first weekend of may

    Hi all

I'll be in Albany on the first weekend of May (friday through sunday) and would like to find people to ride with. I'm interested in 15-25 miles of cross country to AM riding. Any takers?

If no one is riding, anyone have suggestions for good trails within 30 miles of albany?

Check out the DOD webpage (see link in my signature)

Plan on going to Oakridge, meeting at the trailhead Cafe, and then hooking up with some locals to ride any of the great trails that should be clear by then.

thank you sasquatch. I'll look through DOD for info and the cafe. That gives a good starting point.

Albany to Oakridge is about 80 miles. If you're planning on tasting the flavor; it will be well worth the extra driving miles. Hook up with the DOD and I'm sure you'll have a fine time. Possible to jump in a carpool from eugene and cut off 40 miles of driving and get in some pre ride socialize'n.

Hey Kat, if you can't make the haul to Oakridge I can give you the Mac Forest tour. Conditions will likely be muddy so the best trails won't be accessible, and I'm way out of shape so you'll have to take it easy on me.

Oakridge is worth the trip if you have the time, but there is some riding to be had closer to Albany.

Yup, Albany to Oakridge is right at 82 miles. Closer to Albany is Mac Forest (10-15 miles depending on where you go) or if you're into freeride type riding Blackrock is about 35 miles or so away.

I"m too much of a wuss for the big drop stuff My trip plans were up in the air for a bit but are pretty solid now. Either the shorter trip or the carpool are best. My pickup is too expensive to drive 160 miles that day. And, my time is somewhat limited as I'm begging a babysitter so I can go.

Guess I'm dumb I went to dod and couldn't figure out where to get with people for rides. There were a few things on the calendar but mostly from '07

Don't be so hard on yourself. The dod page that you went to has another link to the yahoo message group. It would of been easier if Sas would of just directed you there instead of the dod web page.

    See you on the singletrack
