    Tires?

I'm FINALLY getting ready to move back to Bend (I'll be renting for the rest of my life!), and here's my question. I'm riding on Hutchison Pythons here in Dallas that work great on the Texas rocky, rooted soil, but suck in sand. The first thing that will happen after I get the boxes unpacked is finding some new MTB tires. Suggestions? I had velociraptors before but that was on my old GT. Those seem heavy for the bike I have now.

Pythons rock in all dry conditions.

WTB Weirwolf tires are popular in the Bend area. Personally, I think they are a little gummy for some hard pack areas, but they excel in the sandy and rocky sections.

I 2nd the Weirwolf. Or if you like them skinny, I like the IRC Mythos combo. I also like the Specialized Roll X Pro.

I thought the WTB Mutano 2.4's worked very well.

I may try the Mutanos. The Mutanos have a lower profile with more of a center ridge.

I rode the 2.3 Weirwolf tires up COD / Storm King (snow, snow, snow) and down GS/Voodoo/KGB last night and while they never slipped anywhere, they didn't roll very well on the wide open stuff.
