A sunny Friday on the Middle Fork (X-post Passion)

Middle Fork of the Willamette Trail, Oakridge, Oregon. Started at Indigo Springs and rode to the bottom end at Sand Prairie. ~22 miles with another 10-14 miles available upstream.

One of the many short descents into a short, sharp climb

This stream cross was as it has always been

This one was new. The trail use to be just to the left of John and the river was several hundred feet past that. New side channel with rushing water now.

This spot is also unchanged. A creek emerges full blown from the rock and flows across the trail. Jake is on the trail!

    Also on the trail

Lots of roots, rocks and tight corners but there are fast flowing sections.

And log bridges. We did lose a few this winter.

    Plenty of this

    And big logs.

This was only my second trail ride since I tore up my knee in early February. Have not been able to do more than a few road miles at a time either. I am VERY pleased that this crippled, fat, out-of-shape old fart was able to ride 22 miles with no real issues. I did wear a serious knee brace to prevent over extension/flexion and it worked. No knee pain and I was able to pedal as hard as I wanted.

    A very good day!
