SPRING THAW 2014 CAT2 MEN'S 50+… any competition for me this year?

Just trying to roust the sideliners around here!
Come on out and make me actually RACE for the podium this year!
It was… lonely at the top… last year, I was the only one in my class and that just doesn't really give me enough bragging rights for the first place I won.

This year I'm planning on NOT crashing 3 times… hell… not even ONCE!
    I'll be a RACING MACHINE!
    But… don't let that INTIMIDATE YOU…

Hope there'll be some takers… CAT2 MEN'S 50+…. be there and be ready to rumble!

I am about four years too young for your bracket. But I am planning on getting down to Ashland to try this out. How long does the first climb usuallt take? I raced the Revenge of the Siskyous there in 89, but Sport's then didn't have a big climb. Just 36 miles from the top to Ashland.
Good friction shifting is getting hard to find nowadays....

I'll be winning Echo again this year. Race in the Cat 1 40+ and I'll try to give you a run!

Need to get down for Spring Thaw

Yeah right! Oh man, jumping into the Expert class is not my cup of tea. You guys kick some serious butt. Us lowly Sports(at leastb this one) belongs at the back of the pack.

I love riding La Grande and area, but never done Echo yet. I see there is some pavement to this at first, iirc? I may have to try that area out soon.

Ahhh the wonders of viagra. . .

Ten years ago I loved racing, especially that opening seven mile climb. . .

At 55 years old WHY would I pay the price of a new tire to ride local trails?

    Good luck with that

    BTW. . .enjoy the rain

Echo is a great race. The start and finish are really awful, but the trail makes up for it. It's always harder than I think its going to be. This is the first year I won't be there.

Move up to Cat 1 or drop into 40-49 if you want more competition.

Andy, move into the pro class to get more competition. You want some competition, right?

Move up, no way! I get plenty of competition. I hear that all fall in cross. I'm in my 40s, I work a ton and it just happens that I get lucky at some races. I do like to trash talk with others though...

Still hoping for someone to pony up for the challenge! hahaha
I'm only in it for the fun… not the glory… I don't consider myself a hardcore racer by any means, but it would be nice to have at least three of us racing against each other so I don't wind up on the podium all by myself again this year.

I'll even buy a beer (or soda… I don't drink alcohol myself) for anyone on the podiums in the CAT2 Men's 50+ DH.

For the downhill, there are 2 sections and neither one involves climbing.
It's a fun race put on by some nice people!
Bill and Sue were just down here with some friends for the weekend, riding Paradise Royale and Tish Tang. I rode with them Saturday on Thornton Trail and got such a rude awakening on how out-of-shape I am… just glad I have time to work on it before Spring Thaw!

I would move up if I was winning Echo year after year. Go race against Barry Wicks and the boys and your trash talking days would end
