    I'm no herpatologist, but I did stay at a H.I. Express once. That might be a Rubber Boa. They are rarely seen because they spend most of their time underground. Very nice.

    The other is a common garter snake. Both are non-poisonus.

    The General does have pics of rattlers on the trail too. And King snakes.

    Max has it right, I've seen 4-5 Rubber Boa's over the past couple years, they are pretty cool snakes.

    Last year was the year of the snakes.

    Brown Snake at Barbie Camp. Non-poisonous but stinky. Don't step on them.

    That is a nice snake, where did you come accros him at? I remember seeing rattlers like that growing up around the Shasta Lake area, they were everywhere.
