New question here. Road trip through

I'll be taking a road trip to Whistler from Cali. I'll be kicking off from a few days of riding around Tahoe. I plan on doing 3 exceptional rides in your state. I will have a 5" and a 7" travel bike. I don't mind pedaling if it has a great techy descent on the other side. I would like to ride a trail that can be done in 3-5 hours. I also would like to hit up Black Rock or something like that to get warmed up for Whistler.

So, fellas and fems, what are your top 3 and why? Do you have any pics or vids (or a link)?
    Happy trails!

Thanks, Cascaderider9. I've heard of both and was leaning towards Ashland. Any other gems out there?

Mary's Peak Northridge is one of my favourites. If you go up there on a good day you can see the Cascades and the Ocean. And the Northridge trail is super fun.
It is closer to I-5 than Oakridge, so if you hit Ashland, then Mary's, Blackrock and Post you end up with less time in the car and more on the trail.

    Not Necessarily

I don't think MBO/August is sold out yet.

I can't think of a better use of cash for mountain biking purposes than a session at Mountain Bike Oregon, Three square meals, shuttles to some amazing singletrack, free beer garden and the vendors really stepped up this year: I rode my own bike half the time and rode a Rocky Mountain Altidue and an Intense Tracer the other half, both a little svelte for my particular brand of mountain biking, but a great way to learn some perspective.

I'll be back in August and so will Yeti and Chris King among others.

You could do Post Canyon on your 7" bike and then do an epic XC ride on Hood the next day on your 5" bike

Yeti and King are cool, but we're most stoked that you'll be back Charlie.

You were right: Friday night ride was the highlight, especially the drive back!

You may have seen it, but there's about 50 spots left for August. It's close to full, but not full. Just having Snake there makes it worth it, but CK usually gives away good schwag. The midnight quesadillas are pretty decent as well!

    Brock...
Are the wheels roundish? Ride it.

I'd love to do MBO, but the first week of Aug, I'll be in Whistler, then head back down to Norcal for a non-bike event (fancy wedding).

irider, standby, I might just hit you up for a ride at Mary's.
    Happy trails!
