    Psycho-X Cyclocross race 11-03-07 photos

Last weekend was the 1st Cyclocross race in a 4 race series here in Eugene. It was held at the Fox Hollow school, and the organizers did a great job of using all the terrain they could to make a diverse, and challenging course for the racers. There wasn't any mud, but there were plenty of steep hills, and off camber descents to challenge the racers. There was even a nice jump in the woods.

The Eugene races are small compared to the Cross Crusade series around Portland, but the competition was good, and the racers got worked. Hopefully, our local series will grow in time, and we can see the wild party atmosphere of the Cross Crusade. Until then, it will be folks racing just cause they love the punishment.

Sorry for the blurry pictures, but my little pocket cam couldn't handle the speeds!

I can add a few from the early races.

Made my first psychocross start, but didn't get too far. Maybe 15-20 minutes in, I pulled the cleat off my shoe. It stayed in the pedal. Sure was fun, and freaky hard!

Geoff told me he won the SS race, but I don't see him in the standings. What's up with that?

OBRA race results are notoriously innacurate. But right now, our man SSConny is on top.

    Nice pics...

Why didn't you bring the pro camera????

Thanks for the pics, fun looking back at the day. You can see the blank look of suffer in my eyes in a few of them. Tough course, more elevation than any other this year. Good to see everyone out there, makes for a fun day. One more at Fox Hollow the 24th, then back to Camp Harlow for Dec. 9th. The race on Dec. 15th is not set, but the beer and pizza at Track Town afterwards is!

Nice pictures, it looks like a fun course and you even get a jump. The Bend cross series is long since finished and so is my fitness. Maybe I'll drive over for the race on the 24th anyway.

Come on over! This site is really versatile. Expect some new wrinkles each time it is raced.
