    Good job! Portland MTB Park

PUMP is still trying to get the idea of a mountain bike park in Washington Park to fly (trails that are actually in the city! wow! ). They have a proposal with all the finer details worked out but the city needs more of a demonstrated interest in it. So sign the petition already! Tell your friends! We really need some fun, well-made trails in this town, I think many of you will agree.

I'm looking forward to attending the Oregon Bicycling Summit in Eugene next weekend.

Eugene Hosts First Statewide Bicycling Summit on April 1

On Saturday, April 1, as a lead-in to the Governor's Conference on Tourism, Eugene will host Oregon's first statewide Bicycling Summit at the Eugene Hilton Hotel and Conference Center. Join the group of bicycling enthusiasts from cycling clubs, tourist groups, bicycle manufacturers, and bike shops who are working to make Oregon the #1 bicycling destination in the USA! Oregon is the land bicycle riders dream about - help us turn those dreams into reality.

Congressman Peter DeFazio will give the luncheon keynote speech. Other speakers include: Jay Graves, President, National Bike Dealers Association; John Blackwell, Chairman, Oregon Parks and Recreation Commission; and, Todd Davidson, CEO, Travel Oregon. Afternoon sessions will include small group discussions focusing on how to achieve the dream and an open forum to address next steps.

The summit will be from 10 AM - 3 PM, with an exhibit hall open from 9-10 a.m. and 3-4 p.m. The $25 registration includes lunch. Exhibit opportunities are available before and after the summit for $50.

To register for the Bicycle Summit or inquire about exhibiting, please RSVP to: ingrid@cycleoregon.com or (503) 287-0342 ext. 103. For more information, contact Lee Shoemaker, Eugene's Bicycle and Pedestrian Coordinator, at lee.shoemaker@ci.eugene.or.us or 682-5471

Hey the Bike Summit sounds real cool, but unfortunately, it's the same day as Barbie Camp, the unofficial "Official Oregon MTB Summit"

I signed the petition. Good luck!

I plan on heading over the Pass once the Summit adjourns.
