    PI Outlet in Bend

How much of an effort should I make to get to the PI Outlet in Bend?

Will I find mind blowing details or be somewhat dissapointed.

do they have a good selection of sizes?

If you're already in town then sure, go there. I wouldn't make a special trip just for the store though. It's an outlet store, so selection is hit-and-miss like any outlet store.

I have found the outlet store's prices are not lower, actually generally higher, than what you can find online. I would only visit the store if you need something immediately.

I found my favorite trail running shoes there for less than I could find online, but they were last season's colors and they only had a few sizes. Hit-and-miss. Online is more reliable.

Pearl Izumi? I've been to the store in the Woodburn outlets and it was a waste of time. If you're going to be in the area, it wont hurt.
I only ride bikes to fill the time when I'm not skiing.

No sales tax in Oregon may be enough to make it worth it.

Pricing is funny. If it's last year's stuff or older, there are some killer deals (and they will often ship from other stores if they are out of your size). If it's this year's stuff, you pay MSRP. They do this to protect their local PI retailers. Secret: This may be dead, but it used to be that EVERY store in that outlet mall was required to give a 10% discount if you had a AAA card. Not sure whether this is still the case.

I shop the PI outlets in Bend and Woodburn pretty regularly. The current season clothing is full list but I can usually get a good deal on previous season shoes and clothing on the clearance or sample racks.
I mostly buy running shoes at 50% off or better and bike shoes at decent discounts. I just bought some X-Alp Enduro shoes for about $80 and last year my wife got what was probably the last pair of Barrier GTX winter shoes in the US for $80, marked down from $250 list.

Yes I spent too much on bikes.

    I think they're incredibly overpriced.

For clothing, I buy online, usually Pricepoint or Nashbar. The fit is always well.
