OT: Looking for titanium tent stakes in Bend

Anyone know where to buy titanium tent stakes in Bend? I will need them for winter camping on frozen ground.

The REI website indicates they do not carry them, but I may check them out tomorrow nonetheless.

    Dick's does not carry them.

    Thanks in advance.

Not according to their website, Nat.

And besides, don't they cater to the "bubba" crowd? Do those with slightly pinkish-tinged necks know about titanium?

Mountain Supply? Pine Mountain Sports? That's all I can think of right now.

Car camping or bikepacking/backpacking? If car camping there are plenty less expensive none lightweight durable options out there in other materials. If you want to save weight, titanium is probably your best option for weight and durability.

My go to outdoor shop in Portland is the Mt Shop, not in Bend though, but great to deal with.
I only ride bikes to fill the time when I'm not skiing.

All the shops in Bend will have the same answer "We can order them for you"

You can order them for yourself. Here's a bunch of them:

Titanium is heavier than aluminum. Is there some reason to believe that light and readily available aluminum stakes are insufficient to your task?

I've bent plenty of aluminum stakes in frozen ground. I've never used titanium.

I doubt I'll buy online, so I guess MSR Groundhogs are my best option at this point.

IMO the MSR Groundhogs or the best tent stake on the market for anything but maybe solid ice (no experience there).

The titanium stakes I have tried are all the skinny "?" shaped ones which bend easier than the groundhogs (sourced at an REI btw). I guess if there was a groundhog shaped Ti stake it might be better...

Black Diamond also makes some excellent expedition grade aluminum stakes: http://blackdiamondequipment.com/en/...00000ALL1.html

If those won't work then you need to get some ice screws.
