Good job! Oregon + BBFT = WOW!!

Man, what a GREAT road trip!

We hit some great rides around Central Oregon, and then finished it off with the Fat Tour.

    For some reason I can't get my pictures on here, so here's the link to my post on our local fourum;

    http://www.socaltrailriders.org/foru...-tour-wow.html

I'm already planning to come back on my vacation for the same time next year!

    Nice patch!

Way to go. I haven't done the BBFT since 1999... it was a lot easier back then. And we didn't get a patch... we got t-shirts. Anyway I live ~3 hours from Bend so I guess I better stop looking beyond my own backyard for the goods.

Next time stay 3 weeks -- long enough to hit Barbie Camp as well. Oh wait, make it a month -- you've got to spend a week in Oakridge (500 miles of singletrack) before hitting Bend. Oh wait, why not just move up here.

Good on ya! Next up, the Cascade Cream Puff 100 Mile Race?

Lets encourage vacation time Sparty not an increase in Oregon populace.

Glad you enjoyed the stay. You should check out Oakridge on you next trip. Epic XC. How much XC can you handle? Best riding in Oregon.

    Good job! Thanks Guy's!

"Oh wait, why not just move up here?"

My wife and kid's shot that idea down as soon as they saw me wearing that "I wanna move to Oregon" smile!

I pretty much count everything as XC. Even when I'm riding my Stinky.
The way I look at it is, I like my downhill's to be worth the climbs, and I like to do the climbs to EARN my DH's.

I'm planning on doing the Umpqua River Trail next time up. I've heard it's a lot like MRT but longer.

What's Oakridge like? I figure I'm gonna take at least a week for the next trip.

    Good job! Nice!

Are those pictures of Oakridge or the Umpqua River Trail?

Either way, seeing pictures of those kinds of trails is what got me started on wanting to ride Oregon in the first place!

I've got to find a way to get my oldest daughter up there. She races XC, and would LOVE riding those trails!

Did you finish that bad boy?

I am not sure I could ride those three days without some serious saddle time to prepare...

    The weather was GREAT!

Nice and cool, and a little damp the first couple of days of the trip.
For the BBFT it was perfect! Cool, and dry and the trails were still tacky from the rain from earlier in the week.
A BIG change from our dry hot weather here.
    And now we have FIRES!
