    Nothing Gold Can Stay

    Nature's first green is gold,
    Her hardest hue to hold.
    Her early leaf's a flower,
    But only so an hour.
    Then leaf subsides to leaf,
    So Eden sank to grief.
So dawn goes down to day,
    Nothing gold can stay

No. Shuman was out leading the "Team Got a Deal On These Vest" training ride. We gave them a BIG head start and we caught them at the top of Clear Lake. Of course they put in way more miles. Way more. Way. More.

Yep. Been there. Done that. Did it this time. Did it two weeks ago. I'd be up to do it this weekend. There's a reason this trail is always rated in the top 10. There's also a reason people crack their helmets in two.

Best ride of the summer. (with fall colors)

Nice pics -- at least the ones that loaded on my dial-up.

Don't know the Pony Boy reference. It sure isn't the lyrics to the Allman Brothers song "Pony Boy." (one of my fave Allman Bros songs, BTW)

The Outsiders- S.E. Hinton. The last photo is Ralph Macchio (Johnny) and C. Thomas Howell (Ponyboy) from the movie adaptation of the novel.

My favorite Allman's tune is In Memory of Elizabeth Reed.

It was a good day out there with y'all, Sas & Caz. I haven't looked at my pics yet. That's next on my list now. Will add some if they're worthy.

    Very cool.

Thanks for posting. I'll be moving up there soon (Medford) and this gets me going. It's tough leaving my Wasatch Mountain paradise. Thanks!

Not to worry, There is a lot of awesome riding here in the Medford area. Wait until you get yourself out in the Ashland watershed area. You'll be in love all over again.

Right on. I'll be in Bend for a conference Oct 18-20. Then I'll be living in Ashland while I earn enough to bring my family along. That means a lot of free Saturdays so if any of y'all are willing to show me around, I'd certainly appreciate it ;-)
