    Newport'ish Riding?

Heading to the coast tomorrow for Christmas, and will get a couple rides in, one of them being tomorrow. Did a search of this forum on Newport, and pretty much just came up with Cummins Creek. But I'm looking for anything different in the Newport area. I did the Coast Hills Classic, right out of town, a few years back, but I believe it was on private land.

Anyone have any info on those trails, or maybe a contact for them? Anything else (fairly) close by I could try?

    Thanks for any info.

It's not far from Newport. I've heard it's good riding.

Thanks for posting. That was where I rode last Thursday.

Just south of Newport was Mike Miller Park, where the Coast Hills race was, and where I was hoping to ride. But I think the land is private. I did an exploratory run out 98th Street and got into an extensive gravel road network that I'm sure ties into the trails out of the Park. I'm sure it's like the DOD super-secret riding zone, where you need a local to show you where the trails are and how to link them.

    Happy Trails!

I've been riding the trail out at Mike Miller for 8 years and havn't ever been bothered. Just clean up after yourself and everyone is happy.

Also next time you're in town there is a nice ride out on 123rd street, further south of Mike Miller. The rides are actually connected if you go far enough. Some of the terrain will look familiar if you did the CHC.
