    MRT - May 20th - Summer Foreplay (Part 1)

Or should it be Spring Frolic?

I digress. After communications with General Coonskins and Smudge, I decided we need a ride announcement for those interested in a disorganized ride on the MRT in May. So here it is.

    Mark your calendar: May 20th
Time: Mid to late AM, like meat in Eugene/Springfield around 9-9:30 (location TBD, to establish shuttles, etc.)
Duration: Till I puke with laughter (intermission), then start up again!
Distance: Approx. 27 miles of goodness
Prizes: Are you kidding? (see above, disorganized part). Seriously, watching me crash will be spectacular. In other words, to quote Sparticus, "You get what you pay for".

So who is in? Post here with interest. We can sort out the finer points latter.

Drat. We'll break her in for you. If I am still there, check to see if I am still breathing. Thanks!

    How about a maybe...

Do you think the top (clear lake) will be "clear" of snow by then and are you planning on running it up and back or top down? I like top down...my wife is usually good to shuttle!

    I'll say sure.

    Kraig...
Are the wheels roundish? Ride it.

Disciples Of Dirt, come ride with us.

    I'm down

I've wanted to do MRT for some time now, just never got to it last year.

I'll be the guy making sure no one sneaks up on us from the back tho...my bikes kinda porky for that trail I think, but it looks like fun.

I'll be heading down from Salem if anyone is interested in Carpooling!

Sweet, you'll do fine. Weight will have its advantage. Might caravan or carpool, cuz I live in Slay-em. I am trying to see what sort of convoy this develops.

Uncertain, I heard from Coons that it might still be under whiteness, so drop in and see what shakes loose? Portage? Start a little lower (not sure where). This is the disorganized ride. Take yer chances? I plan the shuttle option (top down, I like that, it is catchy). Coons might like to ride up in the AM from Eugene with lights and meet us at the drop point. Kidding Richard. Kidding.

Stay tuned for the plans. If we need to go to plan B or something more drastic, we will. Just block out the 20th. Fun for sure.

Great...I like 'disorganized' (to a point)-usually more adventurous than a perfectly planned ride headed by a map nazi anyway. I like to go out on a trail & just play it by ear...

    I'll block my calendar.

Wishin' I could, but I cain't. I'll be smokin' cigars, eatin' spicy pork & fartin' up a storm in a cabin on Odell Lake that day.

What can I say. Sometimes fun arrives packaged in an odd wrapper.

Thanks just the same; let's plan another group freakout in June. K?

    Hey General,

Didn't we just see some pictures of you, LooseWing and BigFoot enjoying parts of the MRT around Clear Lake (isn't that the upper part)? Were you riding a different trail, enjoying the process of crawling under/over fallen trees, or possibly a combination of those and other explanations?

I'm off to look for a map.

You know what is entertaining, is watching me have the upper half of my body go over, and the bottom half go under the felled tree. It is thrilling.
