    MRT Conditions?

    Hi Everyone,

Coming in from Tennessee to ride what sounds like an epic trail next week... I've read other places that there can still be snow on the ground this time of year... Is the trail open and how are the conditions?? Is there anything else I should know before coming out?
    Good shuttle options?

Trail is in PERFECT condition. Park & end your ride at Paradise campground & thumb a ride to the top.

Don't know about shuttle options. Rode it last weekend and had a blast. Dirt was tacky and perfect. There were weird puddles of water in the lava, like tide pools, but it had just rained two days before and it's not something I'd seen either of the two times I'd been out.

We like to park in the middle at Trail Bridge reservoir. That way you ride the steep half of the highway at the beginning and the easy half at the end. You can also check out several places on the lower trail if you are tired and head back up to the car. Some folks ride the trail out and back, but that's a much bigger day.

Yes, the McKenzie River Trail as well as King Castle/Castle Rock and O'Leary trail are all in perfect riding condition right now.
We highly recommend calling Horse Creek Lodge to shuttle you on McKenzie and O'Leary trail. Maps can be purchased at the rangers station near the bottom of the McKenzie trail.
    Have fun!!
