You're invited to ride Whiskeytown the weekend of March 25 & 26. Join the Redding Mountain Bike Club as they ride the Lemurian short, intermediate and long courses on Saturday the 25th. Meet at 8:45 at Sunset Market on Eureka Way/Hwy 299, then carpool to Whiskeytown/Brandy Cr Marina. Redding Mountain Biking is a fun, social group with a "no drop" policy. For more info about Redding Mountain Biking visit their website at http://www.reddingmountainbiking.com/cover.html
Sunday the 26th I'll be leading rides of the Lemurian long and intermediate courses. There will be several ride leaders, so we can split into groups based on speed and ability. The ride leaves at 9:15 from the Brandy Creek Marina parking lot at Whiskeytown.
The riding at Whiskeytown is awesome in the spring. The soil is mostly decomposed granite. This means that when it rains you'll see lots of running water instead of sticky, thick, gooey mud. The top elevation on the course is about 3000 ft, so snow shouldn't be an issue.
Camping is available at Whiskeytown (I suggest the campsites at the bridge in Peltier Valley), and an RV campsite is available at Brandy Creek. Feel free to post or pm with questions. Hope to see you at Whiskeytown.
