    Kudos Bend Mt Bikers

Just wanted to let you all know you impressed a newby yesterday. I took a buddy of mine on his first ride in the Phil's network after our boys were out of school yesterday. Went up Ben's. Half way up, my buddy broke a link of his chain. Well, neither of us have had to mess with a chain in a long time, and we were a bit rusty fixing things, and it took a while for us to fix the chain. But what impressed my buddy is how totally universal it was that everyone asked if we were OK or if they could help. Further, with our two little guys, who do try to yield for uphill traffic but sometimes don't get off the side of the trail before uphill traffic move over for them, EVERYONE was beyond courteous. My buddy was blown away by how courteous the local mtb populace is, as he said, "in this day and age, when people are not . . . ."

Just wanted to let you all know you make good impressions.

    Kudos!

Outstanding. I find folks in Bend are overall very friendly and helpful. I have been rescued twice by good Samaritan's when my bike had a failure. Glad you had fun! Cheers! Check out our beer breweries!!

Kinda funny, his chain broke in nearly the exact same spot I have helped two people out in the past, one of which I lent an extra tube (which was promptly replaced the next week). We are local, so we are familiar with local beer, but it was my buddies first time up at Phils, and he is definitely going to be spending a lot more time up there with his son.

Hmm... anyone know of any shops in town that rent these accessories? I needed them on Tuesday.

Heck with those shops, I'll beat any rate in town!

edit: mine are back-talkers tho. YMMV
