    hotels in downtown Portland

Hey, looking for some ideas for hotels in the downtown area, something funky/ cool, more boutique style. It will be a special occasion, so don't mind spending a bit! I did a search of the forum and found something from 2005, would like something a bit more recent. I have heard about a place called the Modera...any reports? thanks,

The Jupiter Hotel. If George Bush's daughter partied ( I mean stayed) there, it must rock. It is also attached to one of the best concert venues in town (Doug Fir Lounge), and is in the heart of the city.

Not sure what you mean by "Something funky/ cool, more boutique" but the Heathman is very nice.

Copied and pasted from thier web site...

"Constructed in 1927, The Heathman Hotel is a beautiful, independently owned, 150-room premier luxury boutique hotel in the heart of downtown Portlandís Financial and Cultural Districts."
I only ride bikes to fill the time when I'm not skiing.

the rooms at the jupiter are nice but very small. at least the ones i've seen. the venue is awesome though and they have pretty good food upstairs also.

the heathman looks a lot better from a glance at the website...

I stayed at the Monaco (then called 5th Avenue Suites) about 8 years ago and really liked it - thought it was a great value by California standards.

+2 for the Ace. Great hotel, with Stumptown Coffee right next door.

Oops, I see you've double posted. I, too, noted the Ace on your other post.

    (Mods, please delete one?)
