    High Cascade 24 - Awesome!

Did the High Cascade 24 this last weekend and had a blast. Mike Ripley did another great job putting on an event. It was my first 24 hour race and I loved it. My team of four 40+ guys were not competitive but we had tons of fun. Hard to ride, cool down, rest, eat, and ride again. Even my night time crash and broken light didn't ruin it for me. Highly recomend participating in a 24 if you get and chance and are interested - so much fun.

    Good on you!

24 hour racing is a blast. It's been several years for me and when I saw this race scheduled earlier this year I really wanted in. But work got in the way.

Hopefully it was a great success all the way around and will be back next year.

Yep. I think it was a good course for this kind of event.

That route does look fun. A pity I don't have enough friends.

So, did each of you ride one lap and hand off to the next, and how long were the laps?

Go Solo! No worrying about when you must get on your bike and ride. Just go out and ride. Do three laps and sleep for a few hours, then get up and ride some more! Take your time; ride your own pace, have a good time and challenge yourself to see how many laps you can do.

I've done a number of 24 hour races, mostly solo, but also a 4-person team and a duo team. The team relay is fun for sure, but I've had greater experiences gutting it out in the solo category.

I did a four guy team. We switched each lap. We were not competetive and just having fun. Laps were 16 miles. A team was perfect for my first 24, now that I know what it is like I may want to be on a competetive team next time. My laps were right with the winners and 30+ min faster then the rest of my team. This was a great start though and tons of fun.

Nice job. And if you go with a more competitive team next year and your current team needs someone slow for a fourth ....

    No gps for this ride??

I was going to do that race but it didn't work out. I'm going to do the Capitol Forest race next weekend. I can do 6-12 hours but 24 is not my deal. Ouch! Glad you had fun...
