Hardesty Trail Work Party ~ Oct. 1 & 2
The USFS, Disciples if Dirt (DOD), Greater Oakridge Area Trail Stewards (GOATS) and Oregon Adventures are hosting a trail work weekend starting at 9am Saturday, October 1 and again on Sunday, October 2. We will focus our efforts on trouble spots on the Hardesty trail. Join in our community effort to improve this beloved trail that has a lot of user conflict. We will focus on brushing with a focus on improving sight lines. The Forest Service has also made a list of places to focus on...
Meeting a 9am each day at Goodman parking area. Near mp 21 on Hwy 58
What to bring? a Friend (or 2), Tread tools- McLeods, hazel hoes, terra hoes etc. Brushcutters, loppers etc. Bring a hardhat or bike helmet. The USFS will have some extra hardhats. Bring gloves, wear long pants, sturdy shoes, long sleeves. Bring a lunch and plenty of water.
Oregon Adventures is putting something together to support this trail work weekend too! (Think refreshments, tasty refreshments!)
I'll be there for sure, ready to help fix some of the rough spots on Hardesty. That trail gets alot of use, and needs plenty of help. I hope that we can get a large number of mountain bikers to show up for the trail work days, so that we can show the USSF and the other trail users that MTB riders care about the trails and are the main provider of trail maintenance in this area.

Everybody be there! Everybody? Yeah, everybody. If not both days, then one day. Okay? Okay. Personally I'll be there Sunday.
Let's do this.
A big THANK YOU to the 60ish folks that transformed Hardesty this weekend. We had a very productive two days.
Super special thanks to Laughing Planet for the post work burritos and to Ninkasi for the opportunity to re-hydrate!
Be sure you thank the management at those fine establishments for supporting our community efforts.
