    Borne upon a zephyr's shoulder

Sunday, a few of us went out to Olallie ridge, south of McKenzie Bridge. We had been there before, but took the time to explore some new spots, including The Potholes, and Horsepasture Mtn. We had warm, summer weather, but it was clear that the seasons were changing. In a month, this area may be under snow.

We started with some road climbing

Nice views to occupy the climb

    The 3 Stooges

Mt Jefferson, obscured by the smoke, and 3 Fingered Jack

    fall colors

    Mt Washington

    We finally hit the singletrack

    The Potholes

    fun in the rocks

first clear views of the 3 Sisters

Some climbing, hike a bike, and finally just plain hiking got us to the top of Horsepasture Mountain, with some incredible views of the 3 Sisters, just to our west.

    South Sister

From Horsepasture, we still had a short, but steep gravel road climb, and then we ended our day with 3.5 miles of perfect singletrack back to the car. No pictures, but suffice it to say, it was a great ending.

Great pics. That section of Olallie, from the O'Leary junction down, is one of the tastiest pieces of singletrack in our entire riding area. No wonder you didn't stop for any shots there.

Next year, they're supposed to do a fix on that one spot where the trail has eroded away and you have to dismount. Let's have a bunch of us DOD'ers call the Steve O. at the McKenzie Ranger District to make sure it happens, because I remember him LAST year saying it was going to be fixed THIS year.

I just saw the weather report, and I must be a psychic, cause fall (as defined by Tappoix) will be here tomorrow, or friday at the latest, ahead of schedule.

    Beautifull views!

I hope some day i'll go to US to do some mountain biking.

Here in Brazil we have a lot of delicious and beautiful trails, but the scenery and the terrain is completely different from yours.

    Best regards,
    JoeBsBiker.
