    Big ride loops near Bend

    Hey

I知 wondering if anybody has any recommendations for really big ride loops starting out of Bend. I知 thinking long day rides to multi-day rides. Connecting with service roads, highways, and moto trails is all fine. I can see on maps that there is potential to put together a multitude of different loops, but figure it would be worth checking to see if anybody has any recommended routes they have ridden, or have thought about riding.

    Thanks!
    Pete

The options are endless. You could ride hundreds of miles and barely touch pavement.

The trouble with common sense is it is no longer common

Here's something a bit different we have done on mtb's with slick tires, and might do on cyclocross bikes:

Bend via various routes to Mt Bachelor, descend Century drive to Cultus lake. Take Forest service roads through a big spooky burn to Waldo Lake, out to Odell Lake. Stay at Elk Lake, Cultus Lake or Odell Lake resort, or Crescent Junction.

Ride FS roads around Cresent lake, up past Summit lake, and down to Oakridge.

Pump up the tires and ride the empty paved Aufterheide Ride to McKenzie Bridge.

Ride over McKenzie Pass to Sisters. Either take the Sizemore road home, or stay in Sisters, and take some Peterson Ridge trails up to the Three Creeks road, take 370 over to Mrazak or something home.

Carry a toothbrush and credit card.
