Best trails for an intermediate Xc rider?

I will be going to Bend in mid December and stay for 4-5 days. The purpose of my trip is to ride and relax. Can you guys recommend trails and is there any group rides on the weekends? I have a very bad sense of orient ion and riding alone can be a bad idea.

    Thank you
    Stephan

Mid December can be iffy for riding the Phil's network.

See this thread for more info on other options:

In Bend area this weekend; anything snow-free and easy to find?

December in Bend is probably a better time for XC skiing. Many of the trails we ride in the summer are great for XC skiing. Groomed and natural..

All of Bend is intermediate trails; however, December is rough as noted.

This. We're very "intermediate" in all of our tails. And with our first real snow dumping coming this week, I'd suggest packing the hiking shoes, or skis (although the mountain may still be somewhat iffy. I only hit in once we've made the five feet mark).
