    Bend this weekend?

I have to come over from P-Town this weekend for some family stuff and was wondering if bringing the bike would be worth my time. I'll have Monday free to ride, maybe Sunday too. I'm fairly familiar with the area. What shape are your trails in and where should I ride? Thanks in advance!

Bring the skis or snowboard. It's still Winter Wonderland here.

I grew up in Bend, left when I was 20. Unfortunately for me every time I went either snowboarding or tried to ski I have blown out my left knee. It's toast. Oh, "every time" consists of the two times I tried to ski and the two times I tried to board. All four times resulted with a trip down the mountain in a sled followed by a trip to the ER. No snow sports for me! Hell, even hiking more then a few miles with a pack makes the damn thing sore. So, if you happen to know of any riding that would be decent, feel free to let me know!

Blown knee, ouch! Actually I don't know if there's any riding here right now at all. It's been snowing and raining a lot. PinsNeedles went out a few days ago, but I think he was planning to just roam the city streets. If it were me, I'd leave the bike at home and make it a family weekend.

Bonking ... not feelin' well I was just on Phil's today

    Walking my Dog.
The lower sections are rideable with patience, but are half frozen, half slop...
Shevlin Park is so-so as well, morning is best (more frozen)
    Haven't been to Horse Ridge.
Looks like next week is the time to ride.

When will this frigging winter end!!!!!

Mostly snow and ice @ Horse Ridge as of a day or two ago.

The snow shredding is rad and all, but I would just like it to let up enough to get some loops in down low.

At this rate, Phil's should be dried out by June or so!

Yeah, I know, but our snow started in October. And between working full time and 18 credits in school, not enough time to travel and ride.

Oh well, plenty of time to build some wheels...

    I'm here!

I plan on heading to Horse Ridge in the morning (Mon). I'll probably just do a short loop, maybe a few hours. I'm looking around 8-9am. Anybody want to and/or able to join me? Shoot me an e-mail with your number. I might not be able to check back until later (it's 9pm now) and would most likely call in the morning.

    I went...

I rode CCW from the gate, down old Hwy 20 to the end, then made left hand turns back to the car. The climb was pretty nice, only encountering minimal mud and snow (a few patches of each) along the way. A few of the muckier spots had me walking so as not to mess up your guys' trail Descending back down to the car was a bit tougher as there was still a fair bit of snow on that side of the ridge. It was only half frozen in most spots though and had my front tire biting in and washing out a lot. All in all the trail appeared (to me) to be in very decent shape. Keep in mind though that what we in the valley determine to be "un-rideable" usually involves far wetter conditions. I had a nice time!
