    Bend Trails (Met-Win)

A group of us will be in Bend in August. One route we like to do is start at Dutchman and ride Met-Win all the way back to town.

Does anyone know the current trail condition for Met-Win? How are the creek crossings?

    Thanks for any info!

Keep your eyes on this page: https://bendtrails.org/trail/flagline-access/

I doubt it's clear very far up since right across the road at Mt. Bachelor people were skiing last weekend. By August the snow will probably be gone then the deadfall needs to get cleared. I'd be hopeful but who knows.

This might even be the first time in history that people stay off of Flagline before August 15 (because of the deep snow, not because the rules apply to them).

I've actually never even seen an elk up there.

Hiked, skied and ridden many times. Never saw any signs of Elk.

About 5 years ago, while resting near the creek crossing, I saw what I believe to be an Elk for a very brief moment before it wandered into some woods. I doubt it was a mule deer, but it may have been. It was at quite a distance.

    Other than that, never.

I think you spotted Dry Side creeping around up there.
