Bend ride tomorrow Thursday June 8th

Anyone want to join me? I should be ready to go by 10am or so. I'm thinking a 2-3 hour ride unless someone has a different idea.

No worries Nat. I figured something came up. Got your msg, but I'd already hit the road. Did a nice loop from town....

Ben's > Lower Whoops > Skyliner Ridge/Tie > Tumalo Creek > Up Farewell > Down Mrazek > Fire road to Skyliner Rd. > Slalom Jump Park to top it off (where my wheels remained firmly planted on the ground

Beautiful day for a ride. A good amount of snow and lots of blowdown at the top of Farewell though, which continiued for the first mile or 2 of Mrazek. Probably 20 -30 minutes worth of hike-a-bike in all. After that, it was smooth sailin'. Leg's are a little sore today! Not used to those longer rides yet.

Off to Eugene as of today... staying through the weekend. We'll catch a ride next week, eh?

    Snow and blowdown virtually gone

    Hi,
This morning, I rode the loop that SlinBend rode earlier this week.

As of this morning, there was very little snow on Farewell - probably just a few drifts. There was a bit more on the top of Mrazek but also very little. My wife and I did an out and back on Mrazek a week ago and were turned around by lots of snow about 2 miles from the top of Farewell. Given how much snow melted in the last week, I suspect that the trail will be completely snowfree in well under a week.

Also, almost all the blowdown is gone. Someone was in with a chainsaw, I suspect. Only one or two blowdown sections. In total, the snow and blowdown added maybe 5-10 minutes, maximum, to the duration of the ride.

    Happy trails!
