I guess he's done a lot of good, and has helped thousands of troubled people in the community.
Hopefully when he goes to court they don't hear that part...

Oh yeah! I didn't hear any more news about the beheading after the initial story came out. Could it be the same guy?

What beheading? Some a-hole stretched a clothesline across the trail and beheaded someone? I missed that news.

I think it was late last year when I rode down Mt Ashland and for the whole top third, kept running into logs dragged across the trail and other tactics like that. No nails or cord that I saw... wonder if it was the same guy?
I told Bill and Sue about it once I made it back to the shop and they mentioned how they had seen this stuff happening from time-to-time.
Bill just keeps adding up the kudos... more props to the man!
Hey Admin... can we send Pos Rep to Bill?
Than again, he might eat the chicklets not knowing what they were...

"4th degree assault and 3 counts of reckless endangerment." Can anyone tell me the likely punishment for this?
I don't think it's too much of a stretch to say that he could have severely injured or even killed somebody, AND that a "doctor" would have been well aware of the these possible outcomes. This isn't some dumb middle school vandal who didn't think through his actions.

Nice!
... and I used to think it was difficult to fire someone from FEDERAL Civil Service!
If I were a resident of Jackson County... I might try to make an appointment with the "Dr", then go in with my MTB and gear... just to see if he was over his "alleged", admitted, anger towards MTBers.
Even if he were to recant his confession... the thought of a Mental Health professional lying about this still puts his mental stability in question.

I bet he will have some sort of official discipline from the state medical board, but after due process. It's still early on.

I have it on good authority that the d-bag was canned. Paraphrasing of course but he admitted to his employer that he did something “very stupid” and that he might as well tell them since they will find out anyway.

The latest.
Mail Tribune
A man who the U.S. Forest Service says admitted to sabotaging bike trails in the Ashland watershed is no longer working as a psychiatrist for Jackson County, County Administrator Danny Jordan said Tuesday.
Jackson Tyler Dempsey, 57, is in negotiations with the state of Oregon seeking a plea agreement in his case, which both parties hope will be settled within two weeks, according to court records.
Dempsey, who was charged with fourth-degree assault and three counts of reckless endangerment, said he sabotaged the trails because he "did not like downhill mountain bikers," according to the Forest Service report.
Jordan confirmed that Dempsey stopped working for Jackson County Mental Heath on Oct. 19, but he would not say whether Dempsey was fired or resigned. Jordan also declined to answer any questions about the case or Dempsey's employment.
Open positions for a psychiatrist, a mental health specialist and a division manager for the Mental Health Department were all posted on the county website last week.
When asked about Dempsey's case last month, Jordan said Dempsey should be afforded due process of law and that his alleged crimes did not conflict with his ability to perform his psychiatry job.
Jordan said then that the county would pay close attention to whether the Oregon Medical Board pursued any sanctions against Dempsey's medical license.
As of Tuesday, Dempsey was still a licensed psychiatrist with the state of Oregon, according to a representative with the Oregon Medical Board. The OMB has not reprimanded Dempsey in any way, the representative said.
Previous court dates of Sept. 24 and Oct. 29 were postponed because Dempsey and his attorney were working through negotiations with the state to resolve the case before it went to trial, according to court records.
A new trial date has been set for 1:30 p.m. Nov. 19 in Jackson County Circuit Court, provided a plea agreement isn't reached.

I believe Wild Bill told me a few months ago during a conversation about Poodle Boy that WB took a header going down Time Warp due to this kook biscuit stacking strategically placed limbs across the trail, I will ask him again next weekend to confirm that.

Uh ... I think his crimes showed a clear inability to diagnose his own mental illness. And that calls the ability to perform his job into question.

Are you Sigmund Freaking Freud? He sounds like he may be a butt head but mental health diagnosis...who the heck knows. He made a big mistake that will haunt him for years...
