I'm not sure Green Waters Park is a great place to camp, I think it's more of a city park and rest stop.
There are a number of campgrounds around the area.

There is no camping allowed in Greenwaters Park except by city permit. MBO will be there beginning Wednesday afternoon... and people will be camping... MBO has a permit... wear your ID bracelet.

Opps looks like my choice of dates is infringing on the MBO party.

You are more than welcome to ride in Oakridge during MBO. You just need to find another campsite. There is never public camping at Greenwaters Park.

I have heard that the Salmon Creek Campground (near the fish hatchery) is nice. I've ridden through there.

There are several out the Middle Fork, as well? (I'm not usually a camper, so I can't help you much, and some of the DoD guys are already headed to MBO, so you may not get a bunch of replies.)

Salmon creek campground is close to town and near a few fun trails. Several campground along the middle fork of the willamette are nice. There are also plenty of nice dispersed camp spots if you like your privacy more than a picnic table and pit toilet.

Depends on where you want to ride.

If you want to do Middle Fork Willamette, Moon Point, Larison Creek, Windy Pass (Cowhorn &/or Sawtooth), Indigo Lake the head up the Middle Fork past Hills Creek Reservoir. There are plenty of campgrounds up thataway -- Sand Prairie, Secret, Camper's Flat, Sacandaga, Timpanogas Lake.

If you want to ride more of the close-to-Oakridge stuff like Alpine, Little Bunchgrass/Heckletooth, Larison Rock, Tire Mtn, Cloverpatch, Winberry Divide et al, then give Salmon Creek Falls CG a thot/shot. It is about 3.5 miles up Salmon Cr Rd #24 from Oakridge.

Last weekend we stayed at the Blue Pool Campground. It's very nice and most of the sites are on or really close to the river but a little farther out of town.
I only ride bikes to fill the time when I'm not skiing.

Thanks for all the replies. Ended up getting some great info from Eugene at the bike shop Never paired up with anyone by managed a cpl epic rides.

Cell phone didnt work for crap so i couldnt get any calls, emails, voicemails, nothing. Dam Sprint. Oakridge was like fern gully. Crazy over growth. Salmon river CG was an awesome place to camp but there were tons of free places right on the Salmon River by the Fish Hatchery that i should have snagged. All in all i cant wait to come back.

I will say there is something creapy about riding by yourself in the middle of forest no cell service, no hwy for miles, gps cant get signal through the trees, raining and i left my .40 cal at home. LOL

That sounds like my ride to the Post Office to check my mail. .40 cal? What do you think you're going to run into?
