Anyone hear anything about the cougar on Ben's today?

I was riding up Ben's just a couple of miles from the TH this afternoon at about 2pm when a guy came from the other direction looking a little spooked. He said there was a very fresh deer kill right there on Ben's (half the carcass on the trail, other half off in the brush) near the intersection with Voodoo. Big paw prints too apparently.

I haven't heard anything else about it. You guys?

I take it, that the Cougar could not find any young brooding vampires to feast on?

My wife and I almost ran over a pretty nicely cleaned fresh looking leg. Forgot about that the other day!

edit: Now that I think about it, that was Saturday I bunny hopped a fresh deer leg, and it was right after Voodoo intersection pretty sure. Only saw a lone leg. Wonder if somethings been coming back and snacking.

Isn't that how they do it? Return to eat every once in awhile?

A friend said she ran into the lion standing over the kill. Munching away on Kents.

    gNARLY!

Obviously we have zero defense against one of those, but I wonder if we just freak them out enough to stay away, unless sick or something. From a "prey" standpoint, we are as easy as they come.

Ran over the deer leg as well on Ben's today. All the meat was chewed off to the bone. Didn't see (what's left of) any carcass.

I read about the overweight German guy stalking cougars on Phil's Trail. Willem... is that you??

    (just kidding)

I'd post a link to this interesting story, but the daily fish-wrap newspaper, The Bulletin, is pay-per-read only.
