Any beginner/intermediate trails in Portland area?

Just relocated to the hillsboro area and looking for local advice on trails my beginner wife might enjoy? She is not entirely new to MTB but I would consider her still beginner. Seems like all the posts suggest leaving portland area for good riding?

"In the area", of course, casting a very wide net.

Stub Sewart XC trails are a nice intro to singletrack. Also, it doesn't get any more beginner than the Banks Vernonia trail.

The best beginner dirt (near Portland) is out in Cascade Locks. Trail:Cascade Locks International Mountain Bike (CLIMB) Trail - NWTA Wiki

In Portland...Powell Butte I think is your best option.

I second the Stub Stewart option, its close to Hillsboro and you have a variety of options; paved Banks-Vernonia trail, single and double track multi-use trails, beginner and intermediate mtb trails, and good facilities.

It is a rather complex system of trails, but the newest park map is top notch: Oregon State Parks and Recreation Department: L.L. Stub Stewart State Park pictures, videos, publications
