It was a great day in the hills of Westfir with friends. What a rare treat, getting to enjoy Sourgrass Meadow in November, and Tire Meadow as well! It sure beats sitting home and watching football.

We all rode upper Alpine together, and then rode out to Tire Meadow. While Al, Caz and Davey descended part of Tire Mtn, Candy, Steve, and I descended lower Alpine.

Here's the view from my perspective.

    God speaks to Albee

    Steve enjoys the views

    Davey on the dark side

    Snowy Sourgrass meadow

Davey on the edge of light and dark

    nice view

    The gang

    Steve rails a turn

    Cazloco cruises along

    Davey flies by

    Big trees abound

Davey with the famous tree in the background

    Diamond Peak over High Prairie

    The gang pt.II

    Albee looking cool

Steve and Candy enter Tire meadow

    Davey ruins my photo

    Climbing to the viewpoint

    Greeen and Gold

Steve and Candy arrive on top

When Albee smiles, the world smiles

    Soaking in the sun

    Candy Rocks

    Retrotec is happy

    The 3 Sisters

    A trail with a view

    Steve and Candy

    Candy smiles

    Steve flies past

    Steve is glowing

Oakridge, Diamond Peak, and a snag

    Almost home

Did you take photos? If so, please start a new thread.

We missed you on the trails yesterday. See you Wednesday night.

    November snow

"What a rare treat, getting to enjoy Sourgrass Meadow in November" -Sasquatch

Seems pretty lucky; I don't imagine too many more rides will include upper Alpine this year. In 2003 I rode a full loop of Alpine on my birthday (my birthday is Dec 2); the sun was shining, it was pretty warm and the trail was clear. Hmmmm, comparatively it seems to me we might have a little case of global cooling on our hands.

    Few more....

Another great summer ride in November

Sparty wondering where that bike came from

Rockless graciously allows those with booties to go first

Sparty using his, "there's a toy in my pocket" technique

    Albee looking serious

Over there was last week's ride (it's a big backyard)

    The three rigid SSers.

All in all, another great day for a ride. If we put our bikes away for the winter; we'd miss this kind of stuff.

While you enjoyed a beautiful view and cool weather... those of us closer to the equator had to deal with 80 degrees and sweat in the eyes... ugh how much longer must I endure this heat? BTW this is considered "great" riding weather here ;o)

Great group, great day, great ride. And I still made it back in time for part of my daughter's volleyball game.

Great riding AND scoring good daddy points -- doesn't get much better than that!

    Wink Great Ride! Big Yard!

Nice pics all! Great day to be in the woods. The high country is soon going to be left to the x/c skiers - oh, thats us as well!
The yard needs a bit of grooming. We'll start w/ WhyPass and get back to Alpine in the Spring.

Is that poison oak I see?

Sorry about your heatwave down there. Remember to bring a jacket when you come to Orygun. Fortunately, humans are waterproof, eh.
