14 riders take on Mr. T

We got lucky today, and the rains held out until we finished our ride, and returned home. Oregon is a pretty great place sometimes, if you're willing to take a chance.

    I'm seeing them right now.

    NOW THEY ARE GONE.

Maybe figured it out, when I posted to the blog Picasa re-organized some of my pic's and the links changed. I used the link feature that gives me the picture link and fixed it. I THINK!

As I lay here at death's door...your pics serve to further demoralize me by making me realize what an enjoyable day on the trail I missed. I will strive to turn that attitude around to getting well so I don't miss another!

No worries, I probably won't die. That would be the easy way out. Flu bug's gotta hold on me.

Couple shots. It's not that I don't know how to take photos, its that I don't know how to stop to take photos.

Sweet sweet singletrack. Great job on repairing the landslides

It's not just 1 episode. Timmy is a regular cast member. He's retarded and all he can do is say his name (Timmmmmeeeee) like a spaz. Everyone laughs at him, and picks on him, but he's too stupid to realize it, so he goes on smiling and saying his name.

Damn Sparty, how tall are you? That looks like a circus bike. Also, how are you liking your wingnut? Hyper 3-0? I have a love hate relationship with my Camelback have been eyeing the wingnuts but none of the local shops here carry them so it's tough to know how it would work for a shortie like me.

    Thanks....

    I'm 7'5".

I like the Wingnut. Yes, I believe it's a Hyper 3. I got into packs that place the weight low on my back when Paul Thomasberg introduced me to their ergonomic benefits six or eight years ago. (I've got a bulged disc in my spine and discovered that Camelbak-type packs just don't work for me.) Also have an Ultimate Directions Epic that I like even better than the Wingnut but sadly I don't think UD packs are available anymore.

While Sparty makes my bike look nice a circus bike, it's not. It's a custom 26" SS Retrotec, designed around my 27.5" inseam.

I may be short, but I'm also fat, stupid and ugly, so it works out in the end.

Hmmm Sparty... tried to look up UD and the only one I've found is the "wasp". I guess I'll pick up a Wingnut and see if I like it, it's gotta be better than the CB.

I'm thinking I dig the look of the the Hyper 2.5 but for the same price I can pick up the Hybrid 3.0. I really wish we had a dealer in the greater Austin area so I could check it out live. Guess I'll roll the dice.

aLaN and I were just PMing about the trip today. Can't wait! Wow, 15 weeks... I better get to the gym, I'm in miserable condition. May end up in the RLAG group.... like that's anything new

    Oops. I said 7'5" but I meant 75".

Speaking of using inches to describe height, why is it when babies are born everybody talks in terms of how long they are but after we become adults talking about how long somebody is takes on a whole different meaning?

Answer that one without stepping in anything if you can.

Hey Dave....long time no talk man, yeah it's been a LONG time...too long eh. I am living in Victoria now...on the Island...love it here but it's missing the long singletrack that I grew up with in Oregon....we are trying to change that though. Lots of technical stuff though...so it keeps us on our toes.

I was thinking of coming down for MBO this year...looks like a crapload of fun....but we'll see if that works out. I have become slower and fatter since I left...haha...so I would be WAY off the back, but would have a huge **** eating grin on my face.

I lurk these forums quite a bit...heh....some great stories and photo's on here that make me yearn for Oregon. Hopefully make it down there one of these days....if you make it up to Canuckland lemme know....we'll hafta ride.

Yes! Look the Disciples up when you get here for MBO.

FWIW I've served as an MBO guide past couple years -- the event is pretty much everything you could want in an Oregon ride fest. Great trails, shuttles thereto, beer garden (hope you like Fat Tire), prison-style chow lines, a freezing river to swim in post-ride (or freezing showers if you don't like freezing rivers), etc., etc.
