    On One Ride Pictures.......

How about a thread where we can feature how we are using our On One bikes, where we're riding them, characteristics of the trails and locale, etc.

Here are some photos of a ride last week SW of Oakridge, Oregon. We had planned a long gravel climb and then a techy decent, but it dumped way more snow than we expected the night before. This limited us to a hilly, snowy gravel grind and a sudden encounter with a big black bear.

    On One Ride Pictures.......

This week, it warmed up dramatically and the snow level jumped. Got in a fun riverside ride SE of Oakridge. Makes me think I should add a Fatty to my collection of Lurcher and Inbreds, to be ready for all occasions.

I really like my current combination of light Lurcher frame/carbon fork and high-volume/low-pressure tires.

Does this count? Entered the FatBike division (3 entrants) in a local race.

Nice. I have been wanting to see a Fatty up close -- hope to buy one by next winter so as to expand my winter/spring riding options.

Got up high enough to ride Lawler near Oakridge. This was the area where a dumping of snow kept us from getting to the trail 2 weeks ago.

This trail is a blast -- good climbing, swoopy/switchbacky downhills, rocky/sketchy shale and rock, huge views, old-growth timber, everything.

I pushed my Lurcher's rigid setup to the limit.

    On One Ride Pictures.......

Rode with a couple friends up Highway 242, an old pass road that crisscrosses from the McKenzie River over the Cascades to Sisters. In the spring, there is a short window when this road is snow-plowed and open to bikes but is still closed to vehicles. The ride includes steep hairpin turns, tall firs, snow banks and lava fields up top. We threw snowballs while riding just by grabbing handfuls of snow from the banks. Rode my 29er Inbred with homemade bikepacking bags, just to test them out. This was the closest I have come to road riding in a long time.

Half road, half dirt today. Perfect Oregon spring weather.

I am experimenting with combining the various types of riding -- road, dirt/gravel, singletrack. Makes it easier to ride straight out of the garage, although I prefer 100% singletrack.

I have no pictures actually, only some videos. I hope you will enjoy it. The video is only an unedited, uncut and raw one (with a randomly selected music). The bike is a 2012 On-One Inbred 29er.

    On One Ride Pictures.......

Family camping on the Oregon coast. Got in a few rides -- mostly gravel grinding, but some singletrack. Wet, muddy, green and another fairly close black bear encounter. A mid-sized bear that was walking toward me as I rounded a bend. Saw his wide face go into surprise mode, then he turned, loped a few strides from me and rushed down a steep riverbank. Our warm spring has got the bears out moving.

North Umpqua Trail on my Lurcher. Lots of fun riding. Great land. Big timber, waterfalls, exposure, weird creeks that cross the trail over a 50-yard segment -- some amazing natural features that are hard to find in Oregon. What a fun time.

With the trails too muddy to ride, I went on a 40+ gravel grind in search of these sights.

I am so fortunate to live in western Oregon. Amazing old-growth timber, volcanic features, miles of ocean, many many rivers, and trails going everywhere. And just two hours from the Titus/One One USA trove in Portland!

Got in a great ride today on a loaner Titus carbon Rockstar 29er. Ok, I know it's Titus and not On One, but it's made and sold by the same great people. And what a fun time it was -- Heckletooth and nearby trails east of Oakridge -- with a little of everything: riverside trails, a good long climb, some rocky tech stuff, some cliffs and sun, then a long fun swoopy downhill. What a super bike and a fun area to ride!

Wow, there's no better workout machine than a light, nimble On One SS 29er on our local trail network of intersecting climbs and descents!

Got my new Scandal out there today. Feels so good. Just slapped on what I had -- SS wheelset with winter mud tires, eXotic rigid carbon fork, Mary bar, XT crank and wheels. Such a fun bike!

Would like to upgrade the fork, and I need some volume so will be ordering some 2.4 Chunky Monkeys!

The On One swapout system is real nice, simple and versatile.

Actually, I'm still riding an "old-school" carbon 26er (On-One Whippet XC) and I'm still really enjoy how does it go - however, I like my Inbred 29er a bit more, especially it's geometry which is better to my taste

Got to ride a Rockstar, Lurcher, El Guapo and Fatty all in one weekend, thanks to Titus/On One USA presenting their stuff at Mountain Bike Oregon.

Some climbing and lots of downhill runs with all of the above -- what a blast. The Fatty was surprisingly nimble on some steep, swoopy, sketchy downhill stuff -- and what great traction!

Got in lots and lots of fun singletrack with these great bikes, and they all performed well.

I recently described to a friend that I am still in the "honeymoon" phase with my Lurcher, even though I am going on 2 years of riding it. I love it. So versatile and light but not fragile. I have a 100mm Reba on it, 2x10 XT, tubeless wheelset and mostly On One small parts. I could shave a lot of weight if I wanted to spend some $ and swap out some stuff, but I am mostly looking for reliability and ruggedness right now. And this is great geo -- I also have a Scandal and 29er Inbred.

Gracias...Just what I wanted to hear. I have also been happy with On*One "small parts." I have been running 100 mm on my Scandal SS and 1x10 and need no more. I plan on jumping on a Lurcher when they become available again.

They had a great sale price on Lurcher frames a few months ago -- something like $365. I almost bought a spare because it was such a value. My Scandal is set up SS with a rigid carbon fork. Turning my 29er Inbred into an Alfine 8 bikepacker.
