Here is a 2011 456 in fat mode. Front is a Surly Nate on a Surly Rolling Daryl, rear is Maxxis Holy Roller 2.4 on a 26mm i.d. Rim. I am curious how fat I can push the rear...it rides great in this configuration and super fun!

Fork is Surly Pugsley with 100mm spacing.

JMOLINA34 Like what you've done with your 456, is it a Summer Season as I'm thinking of doing something similar?

    Hey Bluff,

The frame is an original 456 with the same geometry as the summer season except my head tube angle is 69.5 degrees with a 5" fork. The summer season has a 66.6 degree head angle with the 5" Fork.

The pugsley fork has an A2C 447mm with a 43mm offset so with the nate being about 29.4" in diameter gives ride height similar to 491.3mm a2c 26" fork (120mm travel unsagged.) sweet for me since this gives me the 69.5 ish head tube angle it was designed to ride with. The ride is perfect for me this way, its just slack enough to give some nice stability and since it's a 20" frame the top tube is nice and roomy. The stem is 65mm and the bars are about 680mm which I may change to a bit wider.

The Summer Season with 66.6 degree might give you a bit of slow steering with this same combo but I am loving mine so far. If I can get a knard 3.0 on the back....I'd be set!

    Happy trails.

I'd love to know if someone can fit a knard back there. A DW on 26mm internal width rims fits my inbred with a teeny bit of room to spare (3/16" on either side).

Is this black frame or "stealth grey"? The colour combination looks surprisingly good, better than blue one... The bike itself is no surprise though - you will certainly love it! Very capable, good on climbing and laterally dead stiff at the back. Enyoy!

I have posted pictures of my Scandal before, but this instance is from the dust off ride. The frame had hung on the wall in favor of carbon for about 6 months. Of course the carbon was lighter, but also handled like a wet noodle in comparison. Welcome back my old friend!

sh:tty pic of my 4yrs old inbred. I always shake my head when I hear 'absolutely love this bike' and alike kind of stupidness, but... now I must admit that as simple and cheap (far cheapest of all of my prevoius bikes ever) this bike is, as much I love it (or at least to ride it) :)

Hi guys, I am new over here.
I am a XC, XCM and Singlespeed racer from Belgium.

I have a couple of On One bikes at home, so i will give this thread some new bikeporn pics

    First my Maccatuskil:
    Eagle XX1 groupset
    Roval Control wheels
    XTR brakes
    and other carbon stuff
    ....

Love this thing! Very light responsive XC bike

    Very nice quiver..
What are the tires and fenders on your Inbred in winter/commuter mode. I have same thing with a rack and was contemplating putting fenders and larger slicks like those on it. Seems so strange running 1.9" tires on it..
  • 08-07-2017
    Tim_TW
Tires are Schwalbe Big Apple's in 28 x 2.35. Heaviest tires i have ever ridden, but perfect for commuting. Never had a flat with them!

The fenders are SKS bluemels, the widest ones (65mm?).
Had to be creative to fit them, with a drill and tie-wraps, but they do the job very good.
The Big Apples spray so much water when the road are wet, you will be soaking wet in no time!
So fenders really are a must when commuting on fat slicks
