(I have a 18" sized 26er inbred which seems good but a bit on the short side in top tube department, especially while climbing. thinking of building a 19,5" 29er inbred as a first 29er, but i am not sure that the 19,5" won't be too big)

So my 26" Inbred is normally a hardtail, and I normally use it as summer-only bike. But I recently had a spare 29er fork hanging around, and the axle-to-crown was just about perfect (10mm more than a troll fork, or an inch more than the 80mm on one 26er fork) so:

Out and about with the new upgrades. New XT wheelset, Michelin Wild Grip'rs, and an Absolute Black 34T oval chainring. The answer is yes, the oval ring is a game changer for me. Super stoked!

Saw through all the pictures now, really love how all On-One bikes are built exactly to the riders demand.. Really alot of unique bikes here!

I've had 3 On-One bikes, really happy with all of them.

My first! A On-One 456Evo2. Got it after i snapped my Ragley blue pig.
Sold it to buy a DH and a XC bike. Really miss this, was alot of fun

My On-One Inbred SS. Was building it so i could use some parts laying around my house. One week before a XC marathon, my 20speed carbon race bike snapped. So had to race with this! I had soo much fun racing a singlespeed all rigid bike!

My On-One 45650B. Bought this frame, and fitted the parts from my XC race bike after it snapped. I am now waiting for some burlier wheels, brakes and a 150mm Pike fork. Cant wait to shred this on some rougher trails!

Got one Dirt Wizard for the front of my 26" Inbred on a 33mm rim, and after just a couple of rides I'm pretty happy with it. It's noticeably bigger than an ardent, and was good in the fresh snow we just got:

When I first mounted it up I stuck the front tire in the frame to test clearance, and was surprised that there was plenty of room:

edited to add: I refit the frontwheel with the DW in the back after giving it a couple of days to stretch out, and there's 3/16" clearance on either side. And that's actually about the same as what I've got in my fork.

Hi guys. Got a question for all you on one enthusiasts. My gf has her heart set on an on one inbred as her new bike build. She really wants it in white but the white frame is a sliding drop out single speed frame. My question is, can you run gears on a single speed frame? Thanks.

I think you just need a chaintug/tensioner with a built-in derailleur hanger. Problemsolvers makes one: Problem Solvers

And you'd prrobably want some stick-on cableguides: Problem Solvers Stick-On Hydraulic > Components > Drivetrain, Brakes and Pedals > Cable Guides | Jenson USA

    Good job!

Visited Moab last month for a "Spring Break" trip (half marathon in Zion, then a week in Moab). Rode up from Moab to Canyonlands NP via Potash/Shafer Tr. A bucket list ride of mine that I've been wanting to do for a while. Great ride. Great scenery. Great bike - Scandal29!

    Rest stop at Potash Rd.

Enjoying the new Magura TS8R fork that is set to 100mm internally. The extra bite of the 180 mm front brake is also a welcome addition. Now if I can just buy some legs and lungs, all will be well.

I have always been a big fan of steel frames and this on one is one of the best. Most everything here is from Craigslist as I was on a serious budget. Still need to swap out a few parts.

The Magura TS8 is working perfectly well, and really love it compared to my previous SID.

Can do most things from XC to Enduro, none particularly well..or bad, but sure is fun, only real annoyance is not having tapered head tube.

Jack of all trades and master of none.

I know it's not a picture but I have a question. 29er inbred owners. Anyone running longer than 100mm at the front? The gf has one and is contemplating a new fork. Cheers.

I think it really depends on the type of trails you ride. I recently put a 120mm fork on my Scandal, which is the same geometry, and had mixed results. It was really great on flats and descents, but horrible on climbs. The front end would lift and wander on climbs real bad, so I just reduced it internally to 100mm. So now I am patiently waiting for a new Inbred or Scandal designed around 120mm fork and all the other great attributes that we love about On-One.

Just finished building my EVO2 456.

Using a 1x9 drivetrain with a 28t up front and 11-36t in the back. I'm also using a Shadow Plus clutched derailleur with a Travel Agent and a single friction shifter.

It's a bit heavy, but that's mostly because of the fork and wheels.

Just finished. Rides great. 1x9 28t up front, 11-36t cassette, Shadow plus clutch derailleur and a Suntour Power Thumb friction shifter. I originally had platform pedals on it, but chickened out just before the ride and put SPDs on.

33 lbs mostly due to the heavy fork (open batch) and the wheels. But the fork is sooo plush... No surprises. Handles very well.

It's been an eventful year for my old Inbred 26er.

For a few years it was my basic 26" geared hardtail:

But last fall I switched it over to ss to mix things up:

Last winter it inherited a rigid fork, and with a Dirt Wizard up front it became a bit of a baby fatbike:

After a summer of that I realized I really didn't need two ss and a fixie, so it got gears back:

Then a couple of weeks trying out an old woodchipper for fit:

    And finally as a fake-cx:

That'll last for a couple of weeks until the snow falls, and then it will go back to baby-fat mode.

My Inbred 29'r. She's been run 1x9 rigid, SS rigid, 1x10 rigid, now she's a 1x10 with a squishy fork.

Love the Inbred! If I score enough Christmas cash, I plan to purchase a frame next week to replace my Scandal.

Anybody try to use the Planet X, 20% xmas coupon? Was gonna buy a frame/fork/ wheelset today, but the coupon says "not valid" at checkout. Kinda pissed.

Yes, I had an Inbred frame all tee'd up in my cart. I know it was late in the UK when I tried it, but Christmas day was not over in the US yet at 8pm It worked earlier in the day, but I went to the movies only to come back to find this bad news.

I was using the Planet X USA site, so that should have worked at 4:00pm. I sent them an email, so I guess I'll see what they say.

Did they reply back to you? The same thing happened to me when I tried to place an order around 7:00 pm est and the coupon said it was no longer valid. Pretty shitty, especially for a US based website.

No, they didn't discount the frame. Said the 20% code wouldn't work on my frame as it was already discounted. I had it in my cart on xmas morning, went to see Star Wars, then went to order it and the code didn't work. They must have discovered their mistake and fixed it. Still glad I got it

Very muddy ride today. Got way better traction than my riding buddies on their normal bikes. They kept mentioning how they were just riding in my tire tracks as they'd get better traction there.

Agree, can't beat the price on their frames. Great bikes, I hope sometime in the future that they throw a slack carbon 29er into the lineup there.

I resurrected my Scandal 29er frame and converted it to single speed with the horizontal dropouts. Today was the maiden voyage. The bike is awesome. This is my first SS, and I can see myself spending a lot of time on it. I'm stoked that the rear triangle is big enough to fit the massive 2.4" Goma, which delivers incredible traction and compliance. I previously ran the Scandal geared with 3x10 and 2.25" tires, and it wasn't quite as magical.

Did you ever try the dirt wizard in the back? I have a 456 and I am itching to try the dirt wizard or perhaps the knard in the rear.

^ test fit, but didn't ride. There was 3/16" on either side, which doesn't sound like a lot, but it's about what I have in my fork. But, different rims, or running tubeless could push that either way.

It'll be awhile before I need a new rear tire, but I'm keeping my eye on the 3" Vee trax fatty, which is supposed to be a little undersized: 26+ 3.0" Vee Trax Fatty Seems like it's got a decent amount of tread - a lot more than a knard, but not as much of a slowroller as the DW.

$460 later, the bike is 4 pounds lighter:
