I finally got this built. I moved everything over from another bike.
The complete bike sits at 23 lbs(10.4kg). The frame weighs under a pound more than my carbon frame.
I was worried that the Al was going to be too harsh compared the carbon bike that I have been riding for 8 months. I didn't notice a dramatic difference.
I have been riding 29ers that have been too big for me for the past year(600 mm top tubes). I had enough of messing with seats and stems to make frames smaller. I built this one up on Friday and rode it on Saturday and Sunday. The 2 hour Saturday ride was more about getting used to the shorter top tube that is appropriate for my size. The 1 hour Sunday felt good.
I am fighting the urge to replace the 50mm stem with a longer one but then that defeats the purpose of getting a smaller frame. ha!
