inbred 100mm versus 456 at 100mm
I am looking for a 14" frame to built up as an offroad touring bike for my girlfriend. As the 14" inbreds are sold out, I thought maybe a 456evo ran with a 100mm fork would do too. Anyone with knowledge of angles can explain me how big of a difference there is between an inbred and a 456evo if both are run with a 100mm fork?
Anyone rides a 456evo with a 100mm fork? Experiences? Pictures?
I rode at 456 Evo2 at 120mm for a little while, thought the a-t-c was pretty close to the 150 Sektor I replaced it with. It was pretty comfortable on the rocky and steep, but the angles were obviously slacker with a taller fork. Probably not the same kind of riding she'll be doing where slightly steeper angles might be a little more favorable.
The only con I foresee is a low bb at 100mm on the 456, but other that that it seems like a little more relaxed Inbred. I am ASSUMING the geo numbers from the Inbred are taken at 100mm but I could be totally wrong.
Working with that assumption in mind:
HA: 69* head angle on the 456 vs. 70* on the Inbred
SA: The seat angle may a tiny bit steeper on the 456? It is 71.2* static at 150mm so a shorter fork should steepen that out a few degrees.
ETT: 456 has a longer ETT, 571mm vs. 546mm. That could be remedied with a shorter stem on the 456 compared to what she would run on the Inbred, otherwise she might feel like she was leaning too far forward.
Aside from that, I would venture to say they seem pretty similar. The bottom bracket might be lower on the 456. Not sure if pedal strikes are a concern, but that's a thought. Keep in mind I am not sure at what length fork the Inbred measurements were taken. Though if the posted Inbred measurements are at 80mm, the two should have pretty comparable geo at 100mm.
