    Convert my Whippet to 650b

    Hi.

    Last year I bought my second On-One frame (Whippet), the first one it's an "Inbred" (for my single-speed). At this moment I want convert my whippet from "26 to 650b, my question is: which suspension would recommend for me to buy?

    Waiting for an answer.

    Best Regards from Portugal!

    Wouldn't recommend it. Tried mine as a conversion & the BB was a whopping 13.5" unsagged w/a 120mm fork. Plenty of tire clearance, but corners like crap. It's fine setup rigid as a 27.5 gravel grinder -- and I actually really like it that way -- but for proper mtb I suggest sticking with 26".

    13.5 unsagged is no big deal. Many bikes have13.5 bb 's . If all you ride is lame fire roads and flow trails ,then sure go lower and it will rail corners but the first sketchy rooty trail and have fun with all the pedal strikes.

    @budgie
    You recommend I continue with the "26, right? I saw many people who convert their Whippets to 650b without problems. I know a guy with this frame and he converts "26 to 650b, but with rigid fork (single-speed).

    @Reelchef67
    almost of my rides is on trails, rocks... I practise XCO, so my initial though it was change "26 to 650b (I know de (dis)vantages from both sizes)...

    Nonsense. You do realize we're talking about hardtails, here don't you? 13.5" unsagged is sky-high for a hardtail. Do you have any real world info on the whippet to share? I do, and I tell you it rides like crap at 13.5". How about instead of making asinine assumptions about people's "lame" riding conditions you actually contribute something useful to the conversation?

    EDIT: Just for a quick example, Chromag -- maker of some seriously capable hardtails for seriously technical riding -- uses a 12.5" BB height for all their 26" & 27.5" bikes, 12.75" for 29er. But maybe that's because they ride lame fire roads & flow trails...

    Well when you say unsagged means you will sag... Did not realize you were talking about a hard tail . My bad. Nobody rides hard tails around my area. Even chromags which are made in my neck of the woods are
    Ancient history.
