Looks like the trial is going to be a long one

"Some 107 witnesses are to testify against him". 107 witnesses to a murder that allegedly occurred in the bathroom. Where were all these people standing?

There would have been more but they couldn't fit that many in the bathroom. It was a one in one out standing room only crowd. "All seats were full".

I found that video very annoying. The guy's an athlete, he can run faster than most people with legs, and he expects us to beleive that without his plastic feet he can barely move? Not buying it. Bet the judge doesn't buy it either.

Some of the judge's statements seem fair. It's nice to see a human side even if it could be contrived. It does sound more than the benefit of doubt is being given.

Keeping him in jail with the prosthetics is a risk to others. Denying him his "legs" seems cruel and would make him a burden to the prison system.

She also said that he was contrit, he had made attempts to apologise to the family, that he was a very good candidate for rehabilitation and that the she saw no benefit to the "punishment" side on incarceration.

I'm with you GOB, that is an insult of a sentence.

I'm sure there are plenty of lifers that would give up their legs to be let free. It's a cop out, the scum killed another human in cold blood. His excuse of an intruder is BS. Even if it was taken as truth he shot 4 times through a door knowing someone was on the other side. He shot to kill. That's murder and the sentence should reflect that. His sentence of 6 years is a joke just like he is.

Sadly, people kill people all the time with no legal punishment. (Eg, castle law cases, times of war, self defense).

I didn't watch a minute of the testimony, so I can't expand my thoughts as to whether I agree or disagree with the judge's final decision. But in this situation, just like in the vast majority in the world, my opinions simply do not matter at all.
