Why do my web pages keep reloading?

I'm tired of it. I'll have fully loaded web pages open in my tabs and they keep having that twirly doodad twirl about like they're constantly reloading. How do I stop it? Seems something new to this version of firefox. Some pages used to do it, but now it's much more common.

Why? It's because you touch yourself at night.

All of the people who "make" the Internet are refreshing their content so fast, your browser can't keep up.

Oh and, if you saw a link to "Install the latest version of FireFox" on porn-hub dot com, probably not the best place to be getting free software from.....just FYI.

^ Wait, we can say "porn" here? PORN!

Also, OP, is your version of Firefox out of date? It should be bothering you to update it if that's the case.
Sometimes, I question the value of my content.

You can say it: porn! And ****. The forum's filters have been adjusted, just for the OC, it seems.

Hmm... let me see. People getting paid to disease themselves up so that they can have something that resembles sex, but is really more like a vulgar circus act than sex. Hrmmm...

I must just be getting old. The novelty of pr0n wore off a long time ago for me, plus now it just kinda makes me feel bad knowing that some desperate person is getting by by getting AIDS in a situation that they probably really aren't that happy to be in.

You'll probably understand as you get older. It'll be one of those WTF were you thinking moments.

Plus there's the viruses thing too.

The "topic" being referred to in the forum title means that it is off the topic of bicycles.

Get back on the topic of the subject noted in the first post of this thread involving my whack ass computer.

My suggestion to you is to get "swindled by your ISP" like I did today and upgrade to a faster service speed.

There's a thread for that here, ya know...

Is this a windows machine? If so, from a command prompt, type in: ping -t www dot cisco dot com (put do it right, don't spell out the dots) let me know what happens

We are on topic. There's reason to believe that your negative feelings towards porn have something to do with webpages reloading on you for no reason. For instance, it's entirely possible that whatever's causing you to type porn as prOn is subconsciously making you hit the reload button on your browser without your knowledge. To get to the bottom of this issue, we must explore your childhood and inner subconscious to find the key event which made you not like porn.*

It will start sending ICMP requests to cisco's web server...and it will display the time (latency) it takes for these packets to go back and forth between you and cisco's server to give you a good idea of your internet connection's capability

averages of under 50-60 miliseconds would be pretty good. If you see four digit numbers here, you have a latency problem.

Here's what mine looks like. Internet connection feels pretty lively here tonight.

Trace Route is another tool you can use to look at your Internet connection in action.

    Type in

tracert www dot whatever dot com...

in this example I traced to mtbr dot com.

Notice how quick the traffic bounced around the southeast, near Atlanta. But see the first hop across to San Fransisco? Notice the latency shot up quite a bit. That's to be expected on bigger hops across longer geographical distances.

Funny, I thought the OC was more of a petri dish than a filter. Means we have culture. Of course the type of culture is a bit frightening to contemplate...

For a test, I would try a different browser like Chrome.
