whats the fukn deal with dry clean clothes?

Why would anyone even come up with the idea to make clothes that you can't wash at home?????
Is this a fukn joke? They get ruined if they get wet??

Can someone plz explain what exactly will happen if I wash dry clean clothes in a regular washing machine?
    Spontaneous combustion?

That's what happens to me when I think of the cost of ruining my wife's dry-clean-only clothes in the machine. I check labels very carefully.

I have never experienced shrinkage on 30 or 40C (the lowest setting) and no warm tumbling. Clothes needs heat to shrink. they really do. That how it works. It needs some kind of cycling of heat in one way or another, a substantial difference from room temp i guess.

    I think.

Haven't dry cleaned anything since my military uniforms ( and that was rare). I could never understand buying dry clean only clothes. Besides the silly price, it just makes no sense to buy something you have to pay someone to clean.

Its a conspiracy by the dry-cleaners union. They pay clothing mfg's to put that ish on their labels.

Always buy one size to big, then hammer them in a hot dryer when you get them home, then they will be the right size forever more.
    They only shrink once.
