what am I supposed to buy this year

it seems like 2014 is a hurricane of advertisement. there's a lot of stuff I'm getting told to buy. I don't have a 650b bike, so I'm already pretty screwed here. I heard the Cane Creek Double Barrel Air Climb Switch shock is supposed to be the next big thing, but what's the deal with wheels? 650b is supposed to be big, but I'm not being told enough about wheels. When will people on 650b bikes start going faster anyways? And what's the deal, it looks like the xx1 rear derailleur isn't doing the best, so where's Shimano at with the latest and greatest Di2 mountain bike kit? My X0 drivetrain isn't getting any less chipped. What happened to the handlebar grip technology advancements?

Can't help, I would be violating forum policy, bike-related discussion is banned in the OC with one exception:

Oops, I forgot to blindfold him. OK done, you can go see if he has any beer now before Tone's proceeds.

That's a tad bit extreme guys. I say an impeachment vote should do the trick.

To answer the OP, you should buy an inflatable sheep.

Re: what am I supposed to buy this year

Besides the inflatable sheep, what do I get?

I've got a 68" Longbow I was hoping to get a bike rack for so I could ride around Native style, its a new type of riding. Kind of like a mix between AM, XC, and bowing.

Hmmm archery huh! A great sport and hobby. I did it for several years as a teenager. We have a local OC regular but not too common of a poster who recently took it up. In fact he's a major pot head who grows his own and is not afraid to talk and post up pictures of his current crops. He started a thread about his newfound archery passion. I goofed on him a bit and he took a liking to a comment I made. He made it his signature which shows at the bottom of his posts. Anyway his screen name os Jeffgothro and here is that thread. It's Atlatl. I have a buddy who has been making one from scratch this summer. He intends on using this year during whitetail bow season.

Yeah dude, full length arrows, longbows, it's the way to go. I haven't gone out in a loin cloth, maybe next time I'm in Wyoming.

I've never been to any events, just doing my thing in my yard, when traveling, etc.

I'd recommend selling the Martin Prowler, but then again I'm one of those guys who thinks compounds are kind of odd -- I'd rather just shoot a hunting rifle ... but whatever.

The Atlatl is also cool, but I never really got into it. Then again, I only ever got to shoot targets for a day.
